#FoodAllergyVotes: Have your voice heard and #MakeFoodAllergyCount this federal election.
#FoodAllergyVotes is a grassroots advocacy campaign that is calling on the federal government to #MakeFoodAllergyCount and help the over 3 million impacted Canadians, and those who support them, live well with the condition.
We are asking all federal parties to support our effort to get federal leadership to advance food allergy prevention, management, and care. But we can’t do it alone. Your voice is crucial to make #FoodAllergyVotes heard.
The need for action

While food allergy research has made significant progress and we now have a clearer understanding of the challenges involved, much remains to be done in preventing food allergy, improving access to treatments, and ensuring anaphylaxis awareness and support. With new options available to reduce risks and enhance quality of life, it’s essential that barriers are addressed.
Now is the time to act — your voice can make a difference in getting the government to take action.
Food Allergy Canada and the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (CSACI) are calling on the federal government to take action on:
- Building public awareness and support of food allergy and anaphylaxis to ensure safer, more inclusive environments for those at risk.
- Ensuring reliable access to essential medications to prevent drug shortages and provide access to medications.
- Prioritizing preventive measures into national public health initiatives.
- Improving accessibility to care with timely diagnosis, intervention, and treatment.
Food allergy has been overlooked as a serious medical condition for far too long, it’s time the federal government made food allergy a priority!

Engaging the parties
We will be sending all the major parties a questionnaire on food allergy policy requesting their support of our efforts to secure federal leadership for food allergy prevention, management, and care. Once we have received all responses, we will share them here.
