Help us #MakeFoodAllergyCount with the federal government. Together, with the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (CSACI), we have submitted our 2021 pre-budget submission and need your support to help elevate the conversation to the next level.
Please write to your Member of Parliament by September 4th and ask them to support our pre-budget submission and encourage the Standing Committee on Finance to invite Food Allergy Canada and the CSACI to present an oral testimony during the consultation hearings. Send your MP an email/letter.
Our 2021 pre-budget submission
Our submission requests a modest commitment from the federal government to initiate the National Food Allergy Action Plan. It comes at a time when the government is seeking to protect Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic while presiding over an economic recovery. A small investment now is vital for delivering significant impact in the future by helping to reduce food allergy prevalence, lower healthcare costs, reduce the economic burden, and ultimately improve the quality of life for the more than 3 million Canadians living with this medical condition – including you and your family. You have the power to make an impact
Having local candidates hear directly from people impacted by food allergy is very powerful. Many of you took the opportunity to invite your local MP to our advocacy day reception last year. Because of you, they came to hear more about the National Food Allergy Action Plan. From that simple action, you helped to create change.
