Food Allergy Canada is kicking off Food Allergy Awareness month with the launch of our new campaign – “Today I Need”, which shows the reality of many Canadians with food allergies and offers real hope. Today.
We are here to help – from our many services for families and caregivers, to cutting edge peer-to-peer programs for teens and adults, to our award-winning educator training programs and community outreach and advocacy.
Here are some of the activities that Food Allergy Canada has planned for May:
May 3 – Tackling Allergies with Thomas Miles of the Toronto Argonauts
This interactive webinar is especially designed for teens to help them navigate their allergies. Thomas has been a mentor and a role model on managing food allergies. We’re proud to have him on our team!
May 10 – Release of e-learning community course
This free, medically reviewed and bilingual interactive course is an asset for people with potentially life-threatening allergies and those who care for them. It is modeled on our successful e-learning model for schools, AllergyAware.ca.
May 16 – Sean Delaney Memorial Golf Classic
This is the tenth anniversary of this very special fundraising event to support people living with food allergies through research and education. Our thanks to the Delany family for organizing this wonderful event! We hope to see you there.
May 16 – Summer of TAG
Canadian racecar driver Alex Tagliani is promoting food allergy awareness and safety with Food Allergy Canada and the support of Pfizer Canada (Canadian distributor of EpiPen®). Summer of Stay tuned for more info on this exciting project that engages kids, families, and community. Thank you, Alex!
May 28 – Food Allergy Canada’s annual community conference
Our annual educational conference for the community is being held in Halifax for the first time. We bring together allergists, advocates and educators to discuss new research, education and so much more. Register today.
